Best AT Bindings of 2015
To conduct our 2015 AT binding test, test director Jordan White recruited multiple seasoned testers who used these bindings while backcountry powder skiing and inbounds at both Aspen and Aspen Highlands in Colorado. The team compared them side by side rating them on our five main criteria—ease of entry, ease of transition, uphill performance, downhill performance, and security. The Gear Institute Rating is the combined score across all categories, representing the highest overall level of performance.
The G3 Ion is a very clean take on a standard tech binding. It offers a few nuances that make it stand out from its competitors and its one of the best looking binders on the market!
The Vipec makes going from ski to tour to ski a breeze, without ever stepping out of the binding.
The Dynafit Radical 2.0 makes some big and significant changes from its predecessor, moving it closer to perfect binding.
The Kingpin 13 is Marker’s hybrid tech binding that appeals to the freeride crew.
